Open both valves by twisting counterclockwise — the mattress will self-inflate in 3-5 minutes
For extra firmness: Use the outer bag as a manual pump to add more air through the valve
Close valves tightly when desired firmness is reached
To pack away: Open valves, roll tightly from the opposite end, and store in carry bag

When in use

1. Inspect the area where you intend to place your mattress and clear away any rocks, stones, or other sharp objects that might cause puncture. This step also helps to protect your tent.

2. Ensure your mattress is positioned away from open flames, sparks, embers, heated camp stoves, lanterns, or any other sources of intense heat.

3. Do not use an air pump for inflation, as this can lead to irreversible damage. Use the outer bag for additional/ quick inflation if needed.

4. Be careful not to step on or crush the valve assembly. This can cause irreparable damage.

When in storage

1. For optimal performance and longevity, store your self-inflating mattress with the valve open, either lying flat or standing on its side. This will ensure the foam fully expanded and also allow moisture inside to escape. If your mattress must be stored in a compressed state, take it out and inflate regularly to prevent the foam from struggling to rebound after prolonged compression.

2. Ensure your mattress is as dry as possible before rolling it up and store your mattress in a dry area to prevent mould.

3. Clean with a damp cloth(if required) and let it fully dry before storing away.

4. If, unfortunately, your sleeping pad gets punctured, please use the repair kit provided in the small pouch near the bag opening, or use a high-quality, flexible polyurethane adhesive instead.

Why Isn't My Restwell self-inflating mattress Fully Inflated on First Use? Why Isn't My Restwell self-inflating mattress Fully Inflated on First Use?

The Restwell self-inflating mattress starts inflating when the valve is opened and stops once external atmospheric pressure balances with internal cell pressure. Since the mattress is vacuum-sealed and rolled up at the factory, sometimes foam cells can stick together, preventing the foam from fully expanding on the first inflation.
This is a common phenomenon with all self-inflating foam mattresses, and can easily be overcome by giving the mattress ample time to inflate on first inflation and using our specially designed outer bag to pump extra air into the mat.
