- Bacon - 300g, chopped
- Mushrooms - 300g, sliced
- Onion - 1 whole, finely chopped
- Garlic cloves - 4, minced
- Heavy cream - 300ml
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Salt and pepper - to taste

Instructions:
- Boil the pasta: Add pasta to a large pot of boiling water, with a pinch of salt. Cook until Al dente or to your liking. Drain the pasta but reserve a small bowl of pasta water.
- Sauté bacon & mushrooms: While the pasta is cooking, in the skillet, warm up some olive oil. Toss in the minced garlic first, then add in the chopped bacon - cook until they're slightly crispy. Next add the onion, stir until onions are translucent then add in the mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms release moisture.
- Add cream and cheese: Reduce the heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring as you pour. Lastly sprinkle in the grated parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and blended in.
- Season and combine:Add the cooked pasta into sauce, if the sauce feels too thick, splash in a bit of the reserved pasta water for desired consistency. Make sure the pasta is generously coated with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
And you're ready to serve – 4 easy straightforward steps for dinner outdoors.
Extra tips:
Tip 1: It's okay to just eyeball the ingredients, it doesn't have to be exact, especially when we are out camping, we try to use a whole can (300ml) of the cream and not leave any.
Tip 2: Some of the ingredient can be prepped at home first for easier and quicker assembly during camp. We usually have the mushrooms chopped beforehand which makes it easier to store flat too.
Enjoy! If you get a chance to make it when camping, we'd love to see your photos 📸
